Advanced Design Boilers

The Efficiency You Want And The Reliability You Need
High efficiency boilers were introduced in response to the energy crisis of the seventies. Most first generation high efficiency boilers were simply standard units that had been hurriedly modified to boost efficiency. These boilers obtained higher efficiencies by permitting steady-state condensation in the combustion chamber. Failure to adequately protect the combustion chamber and heat exchanger from the corrosive effects of condensate meant that most first generation units failed prematurely.

The units condensed, eventually corroded, and finally were discarded. Manufacturers learned from their mistakes. They upgraded materials, redesigned heat exchangers and refined their manufacturing techniques. The second generation of high efficiency boilers, which began to appear in the late eighties, was a vast improvement. However, second generation units still experience damage from condensation. Although the materials used in second generation high efficiency boilers last considerably longer, they will eventually succumb to corrosion.

Third Generation Technology
After two decades of trial-and-error, the boiler industry has finally realized that high efficiency and long product life can only be obtained by preventing condensation from occurring in the combustion chamber. Raypak's Advanced Design Boiler is the first of a new generation of boilers that can obtain ultra-high efficiency without compromising product life. The "secret" to the ADB's longevity is that condensation occurs only in a corrosion-resistant secondary heat exchanger. The ADB is designed so that condensation will not occur in the primary heat exchanger or the combustion chamber. The result is an ultra-high efficiency product that lasts.

Hi Delta Boilers
After years of research and development, Raypak's engineering team has designed a superior sealed combustion boiler for domestic hot water or hydronic heating in commercial and industrial environments.

The Raypak HI DELTA™ offers optimum thermal delivery with low NOx levels, multiple firing options and venting flexibility in a compact footprint. It is available in a range of capacities from 150,000 to 2,340,000 BTU to meet most applications.

TRUSEAL™ DIRECT VENT
Fan-assisted design meets stringent indoor air quality and safety standards of the Uniform Mechanical Code (sections 603c and 1509) and ASHRAE 15-1994 (8.14a) in regard to refrigeration machinery rooms.

84% EFFICIENCY
Provides the exact gas, air and heat transfer area to operate at the maximum efficiency allowed by AGA in a non-condensing gas appliance.

LOW NOX LEVELS
Exceptionally low NOx levels meet all local, state and national codes regulating NOx emissions of gas appliances and boilers. NOx emissions will vary from 10-20 ppm, depending on combustion air quality and fuel composition.

FLOATING RETURN HEADER
Makes heat exchanger immune to thermal shock.

ALL COPPER AND BRONZE WATERWAYS
Bronze headers provide a completely rust-free environment for open domestic systems. Especially relevant to the restaurant, hospitality, radiant flooring and process industries. Procelainized cast-iron headers available as an option.

SINGLE, 2-STAGE OR MULTIPLE-STAGE FIRE
Load tracking capability in heating systems, especially when used with the proprietary Y2 and B6000 controls, provides the ultimate in comfort and energy utilization.

INSTALLATION AND VENTING FLEXIBILITY
Horizontal or vertical vent, take your pick - or no vent at all, since the HI DELTA can be installed either indoors or outdoors.

BUILT TO LAST - BUILT FOR SERVICE
HI DELTA's unique enclosed header design results in the industry's most easy-to-service boiler, with effortless access to all components.

Raytherm Boilers
Design simplicity, quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship have earned Raypak a rock-solid reputation for reliability. While others busily design cost out of their products, Raypak has continued to engineer dependability in. Features like thermal shock-proof heat exchangers with floating return headers are standard. Burners are made from a high quality stainless steel alloy that won't corrode or warp. All metal surfaces are rust protected. Every detail is designed to extend product life. Every detail improves dependability. Because every detail matters.

Type W
Finned Coppertube Hot Water Supply Boilers

Efficient
Thermal efficiency 82%. Highest of any atmospheric boiler available today.

Thermal Shock Proof
20-year warranty against thermal shock damage up to 150°F differential. Maximum operating temperature: 230°F.

Light Weight
A floor load up to 70 lbs/sq. ft. or less.

High Recovery
Cuts fuel costs substantially because the standby and radiation losses normal to other boilers and tank-type water heaters are eliminated.
